We have very high expectations as we do every year. Palos Verdes’ lacrosse program has a tradition of winning. If we don’t win LA section of the CIF Southern this year, it would be tough for me to be happy with our season.
We have an interesting and dynamic group of athletes this year with three of our four captains being juniors. They are leaders of a very talented and deep junior class. We are very strong at the midfield running with three solid lines. Some of our juniors are getting good looks from Div 1 programs. We have a lot of strong and fast athletes at the midfield and on the defensive side of the ball.
Our attack is stretched thin as we took a blow early in the season. For the second year in a row our best attackman suffered a season ending knee injury. The season will really be determined by if our attack can feed off our strong play at the midfield and be able to cash in on their opportunities.
We approach every practice and game with play-off mentality, and we look forward to the remainder of the season and wish all teams the CIF the best of luck.
