Westchester Wave

Westchester Lacrosse was founded in 2008 with two boys’ teams competing at the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade level in the West LA Winter Lacrosse League at Cheviot Park. Teams were coached by LMU lacrosse players and in the 2010-2011 season the program expanded to over 150 kids, girls and boys from K-2 to 7th /8th grade. Many players went on to play in the California Youth Lacrosse League (CYL) and several went on to play in the Starz League. The Westchester Wave 5th 6th team won the CYL championship in 2011. In June 2011, the Battle of LA Lacrosse Tournament battleoflalaxtourney.com drew over 1,000 players and families to Westchester Park for a 2-day, 17 team tournament complete with sponsors and food trucks.
